Gula Melaka Kaya


Gula Melaka is coconut sugar, made from the nectar of the coconut flower, and is named after the Malaysian state of Malacca from which it originates. It has a rich, intense, coconutty aroma which it imparts to this kaya. For those wanting a powerful coconutty hit – this is the one for you!

This kaya won a Fine Food Digest Editors’ Choice accolade as part of the Fine Food Show North in Harrogate, organised by the Guild of Fine Food in October 2021!

  • Coconut milk
  • Clarence Court Burford Brown® eggs
  • Golden cane sugar
  • Gula Melaka
  • Organic coconut sugar
  • Freshly squeezed pandan juice

Shelf life

Similar to the pandan kaya, the gula melaka kaya will keep for at least three months at ambient temperature (unopened), but I would always recommend keeping it in the fridge if you have space for maximum freshness
