Each variety of the kaya has a different shelf life, and you can find this on the individual product page when browsing the shop. I’ve collected them here for your convenience!
Pandan kaya: This has been lab-tested to last at least 3 months at ambient temperature. I would still recommend keeping all kaya in the fridge from the moment you receive it for maximum freshness if you have the space!
Gula melaka kaya: This also has a shelf life of 3 months.
Pandan Zero kaya: This has a shelf life of 8 weeks.
Durian kaya (all varieties): This has a shelf life of 6 weeks. Store in the fridge as this contains durian pulp.
Ube kaya: This has a shelf life of 2 weeks. Store in the fridge.
The above are for unopened jars. Once jars have been opened, I recommend that they be consumed within 3 days. From my own experience, I’ve had open jars in the fridge for up to 5 weeks with no issues, but I cannot take responsibility for this as so much depends on how you use and store your kaya. Here’s some advice on helping your kaya stay as fresh as possible:
– Always use a clean, dry spoon when getting kaya out of the jar. Don’t double dip!
– Shut the jar and return it to the fridge as soon as you’re done.
– Ensure that your fridge is set to the appropriate temperature. Be aware that over-stuffed fridges don’t work as efficiently as fridges with sufficient space for air circulation, and can often have warm spots which contribute to mould and bacterial growth.
Delivery is free across the UK!
Please allow up to ten days for your order to be dispatched. This is because my kaya is made fresh, and I only ship between Mondays to Wednesdays to minimise the amount of time the kaya spends in the postal system. If there’s a date you’d like to avoid, please let me know in the order notes! Please click here for more details on shipping
Unfortunately as kaya is a perishable product I am unable to accept returns. However, if there is a problem with your order please do get in touch and I will do my best to make it right! This does not affect your statutory rights
I’m delighted to say that yes I do! I can only send a maximum of 4 jars per shipment to Northern Ireland though, due to the limitations of Royal Mail as otherwise the cost becomes prohibitive.
I’d be happy to look into international shipping for you, and will pass on the additional costs without any extra charge. You would also be responsible for looking into and paying for any customs charges or fees that you may be liable for if this applies to where you are.
